XYZ 3-D
Suggested starting age is 12 years old
Prerequisite: Drawing I
Requires a variety of materials and supplies
A fundamental course accenting methods of construction, study of materials and structural considerations that support the development of 3-D art. 3–D means three dimensions which explains anything you can view from every side and angle. Drawings, paintings and photos are 2–D since they are flat. Statues, sculptures and YOU are 3–D. This class explores unique 3–D art projects that encourage students to think outside‑the‑box to solve problems in creative ways. Most assignments begin with concept sketches as students use their imagination to create their own unique visions for each project. Subjects might include human figures, animals, robots, monsters or a student’s remake of a master artist’s work.
